Hi... I'm grateful for any advice.
Last night I wiped my hard drive and installed 2000. I created an NTFS partition.
Stupidly, after the install, I chose to compress the hard drive.
Then today, I've encountered tons of advice saying I should NOT have compressed the drive due to performance and other issues.
HOW CAN I REVERSE THE PROCESS? I don't have "FDISK."
Here's how I did the compression:
-- I right-clicked hard drive (only one showing in My Computer)
-- I selected "Properties"
-- On "General" tab, I checked the "compress drive to save disk space" option
I'm totally willing to format the drive and reinstall 2000 if necessary, as it's a fresh install anyway.
Thanks so much,
Eric
