I've got my laptop set up with 2 email accounts. ALL settings are correct and have been verified multiple times and test messages sent during the setup go through without a problem.

However, on one account, even though I can receive mail on it, I am unable to send mail. Again, the outgoing SMTP server settings have been verified to be identical to the account that works.

Any ideas on what to look for or check?

Thanks.

Some email servers require you to login before you can send mail and have a time limit between login and sending. I have one account that requires a login within five minutes prior to sending. Trying checking for incoming mail...which logs you in...on the problem account right before you try to send a message through it.

Miz,

I understand what you're saying. However, in OL you can set up your email accounts so that your passwords are saved and the Send/Receive can be done automatically at pre-set time intervals.

For example, on my desktop PC, I've got 8 email addresses that are set up and cycle through the Send/Receive process every 5 minutes. The laptop is the same way.

Also, when an email is written and "sent", it sends it immediately. In this one account it causes an error even though password is set up and the pop3 and smtp files are set up the same as several other accounts on the same ISP. It just doesn't make any sense.

I'm doing some tests and I can send an email from the problem account to the same account, but not to any other email accounts. I've checked all the settings and everything looks fine. Test messages sent from Outlook all come through, except when I add another email address. The email to the problem account gets delivered but the others show up as undeliverable.

This makes no sense!???????

HELP!
