Hi all


Can anyone help me with a problem I have in Word 2000?

Details:

Windows 2000 Professional
Office 2000.

If open a blank word document, type something and click file>save as, nothing happens. I cannot save anything. It simply doesnt work. I dont get any errors either.

If I click start>run and type winword /a and try saving a document it works fine!

Things I have tried:

1. detect and repair (took 4 hours!!)
2. deleted normal.dot to create a new one.
3. Deleted the 9.0 key in the registry.
4. Removed and reinstalled Office 2000.
5. Searched MSKB and google.com



No resolutions so far!

Maybe its a setting somewhere?

Any ideas?

That means you are bypassing something.
Did you take the troubleshooting steps?

I would take them again, in order. And I suspect it's something in Word's startup, which is bypassed when using the /a

Go to windows update and then click office update. Hopefully the updates will fix it.
