This is the error meesage I am getting every time I try and install the newest edition of QuickTime and iTunes. I know exactly what registry key it is and have followed all the troubleshooting examples i.e. unistall former programs, empty temp folder, etc...Also have tried Windows Registry Repair and still unable to install. Anybody got any new ideas, I am going nuts trying to figure this out.

I am the only user so shouldn't I already have administrative rights?
No not necessarily. You only need one Admin account on the computer that would be the builtin account named Administrator. All other accounts can be whatever.
