I start up my computer just this day when I hear a strange clunking sound. Fearing some damage, I immediately press and hold the power button to shut it down. I start up the computer again to make sure it wasn't a one time occurance. It does it again and I repeat the same procedure.
Then I go open the case, clean out all the fans and the case with some compressed air, and put it back together. The noise is gone.
However, it won't boot up now. It comes to a screen that basically asks if you'd like to startup in safe mode, regular, or last configuration that worked. All of the options take me to a dark grey screen where nothing happens and I must restart (safe mode for some reason restarts with a touch of a key, the others are manual).
Now I pop in my windows cd and try to boot from it and it gets stuck on "Setup is loading files (Kernel Debugger DLL)..."
Another information tidbit that may be of use: When I start up my computer, at one point it says:
Serial_Ch0 Master: No Device
Serial_Ch1 Master: No Device
Also, I believe my hard drive is fine. It passed the SMART test and the computer seems to realize it's there. It just doesn't seem to boot to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
