unable to attach to Logical Disk Manager service

Hi. In my Computer Management application, I get an "Unable to attach to Logical Disk Manager service" error when trying to look at Disk Management.

How can I solve this? The reason why I'm running this program is because I got a new I/O Magic Gigabank, and a drive letter isn't assigned to it when it's plugged in. I/O Magic's solution is to run this Computer Management application, see here
http://www.iomagic.com/FAQs/detail_faq.asp?FAQID=301
but it isn't operating as it should be.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Techkid. Thanks.
Yes, I'm administrator.
I checked "Services and Applications" and both were "disabled". I changed these to "Manual" and this program now works. However the new flash drive still isn't recognized (no new drive is listed). Other flash drives (Verbatim and RiDATA I used) seem to work ok, but this I/O Magic one just isn't getting recognized. I even took it back to the store and got a new one. The new(er) one still has the same problem.

JohnWill, did all of that, and it still isn't recognized. Anything else?

Techkid, it does work with my XP computer at work, but it isn't recognized on my XP home computer and on the public library XP computers.

This is how my Device Manager / USB controllers looked before I uninstalled them:

Here are some screen captures which may shed some light, I don't know.

There's another problem now. Now my XP computer will not recognize any of my flash drives, not my 250 MB RiDATA nor my 1 GB Verbatim, in addition to the 6 GB I/O Magic one with my original problem. I checked the two smaller flash drives on my work XP computer today, and they both worked fine there. I may have to do the "resort back to before the change" thing in order for my two smaller flash drives to work. Please help.
