I have 5 computers connected through a linksys router, 4 cable and 1 wireless. All of them are set with static ip adresses
today the wireless wasn't working, after checking everything possible i went to a command prompt and typed ipconfig and the ip of the wireless machine was changed to 192.168.0.1, when i had a static ip adress set to 192.168.1.103.

how could this happen?

A DHCP assigned private address would start at xxx.xxx.xxx.1 (however, that's usually the IP given to the router) so ....... it would seem logical to assume that the router gave the machine that address. What's the IP of the router (would be the gateway)? Do you have 2 NIC cards in the machine, one RJ-45 and the other wireless? It doesn't seem possible that a static IP can be overwritten but.......???

the gateway 192.168.1.1
it does have a rj45 but i disabled that connection. because it only connects through the wireless. i set the wireless connection static. each different connection would have 2 different ip addresses. is there any way a hacker could go in and change the ip address of the connection. if so why would they do that?
