While I have been troubleshooting the problems I have with my home network, I noticed 2 Network Connection Icons in Control Panel. Neither of them are a short cut. Both Icons display the same information. Is there a way of deleting one? Will having two of these icons cause problems? Thanks for your help.

What are they both called? And on what computer is this trouble happening (Make and model?)?

Both connections are called Network Connections. I have had this pc for almost 2 years and this is the first time I noticed that I had two identical icons. I put together the computer myself, MCS motherboard with a P4 3.0Ghz chip and never had a problem. Everything started when I attempted to create the network.

So they're not like Local Area Connection and Wireless Network Connection?

On the keyboard.
On mine, next to scroll lock. 'Print Screen', 'Prt Scrn' or somethign similar. Go into paint, save it then attach it to your next post.

It's rather small but I can see what you mean.

Very strange indeed. I thought you meant there were two connections inside the network connection menu.

Is one of those a shortcut?

I have no idea, sorry. Hopefully someone who might know a solution will pop by.

No. Neither one are short cuts. I am baffled. I do not know if this has anything to do with my problem or not. But I can not delete either icon. When I right click on both of them, I get Open or Create Shortcut. Nothing else

Do they both go to network connections when you follow them?
