Hi Folks,

I am hoping someone here might be able to help me... apologies in advance for any spelling errors also as my hands are freezing !!

Anyway my problem is as follows: I have been trying to get TV on my computer for sometime now but without success. I purchased a Hauppauge WinTV PCI Tuner for my PC which can digital and analogue channels. I have installed the hardware no problems whatsoever including all software required etc .. and all is going geat so far !

Next I get to the stage whereby I start the sofware and its does an initial scan for channels, again this all goes great ! So .. now it has found all the channels.. so I sit back, relax and switch to one of the channels.. and here is where my problems start :(

The picutre is extremely choppy and "lags" although audio for the mostpart is ok. Initially I thought it may have been the strenght of the signal from the aerial however I have checked this and it is totally fine and even got an amplified aerial also but absolutely no difference with this. Direct X is also up to date.

I have tried going into my display settings and adjusting the " Write Combining " and also the " Hardware Acceleration " but again .... without any joy whatsoever. Also changing screen resoution etc does not seem to make any difference what soever.

I have also tried a second USB " Artec " TV Tuner and get the exact same results as with the PCI tuner.

Can any offer any suggestions as to what I can try to help solve this, as its really doing my head in now :(

As for my PC......

Its an Advent T9002 with

512 MB Ram,
Windows XP,
AMD Athlon 64 3400 +,
Integrated Mirage 2 Graphic Engine

Hopefully somebody might be able to help me out, have found this site excellent before !

Many thanks and a Happy New Year

Paddy

Howdy Padmund...

Don't know about the USB tuner you have, but with the Hauppauage card what worked with mine ( WinTVGO card which uses the same tuner software ) is open your WinTV200 viewer and click on the Pref (prefrences) button - Deinterlace tab - and make sure they are set like this...
