We've got an ice storm moving in here this evening. All the schools are already closed in anticipation. Hoping we don't lose power, I'm planning on just sitting tight in the house.
My dishwasher problem seems to be a power outlet issue. I just had that outlet replaced because the garbage disposal stopped working. I need to get someone in to look at it. I can't work under the kitchen sink!
Hope you get the power outlet issue sorted, I know what you mean about getting down to do things these days.
We spent 8 hours at the hospital waiting to get my daughter's suspected fractured foot seen to on Monday,
she can't put any weight on it, but CT scan didn't show anything so she'll need an MRI to see if it's a caught nerve.
We hadn't had lunch & called at McDonald's at 8pm on the way home.
Now you guys have me wanting a fish fry with all the trimmings, like hush puppies and cole slaw...perhaps a (ym) Foster's beer
But if only wishing could make things true...>sigh<
Yvonne wishing you and your daughter well!
Here, much like Mark's weather as it's windy and warm - for this time of year...
So hoping Mark doesn't get electrocuted, please enjoy Windy and Warm, as performed by an Aussie...
(with a bonus tune )
Your fish fry sounds intriguing, I thought hush puppies were footwear,
I've nwver tried Foster's lager but it.s supposed to be good.
Thanks for the good wishes, daughter's foot is slowly improving.
Evening Mark,
I just heard our radio announcer talking about his dishwasher & the serviceman pulled it apart to find cockroaches had eaten the motherboard !
with our very wet Spring we've had a lot of them recently.
It's going to br very 'windy & warm' on Norfolk Island today with a cyclone.
I guess the Super Bowl must be over. Someone down the street must've had a party. I see the last of the cars vacating the area (they were parked in front of our house, 4 houses away!) ... I have no idea who won. I'll probably find out before long. I had no dog in that race ...
Sounds like the people at the Super Bowl had a good time,
we always have cars parked in front of our place during school times being only a few doors from the primary school, they also park here to go on the walking trail along the creek at the end of the street.
Going to be hot the next couple of days around 35C.
Evening all - its all about the weather.
We had a great past weekend - snow was all gone, grass looking a little greener and buds coming out..... Then we got dumped on last night, about 14" of the fluffy white stuff. Now its warming up. I'm hoping this is last of shoveling, but it still February.
Mark, I couldn't get into the Daytona race this past weekend - I'm old school. Race to the finish to win. These stage things are confusing for an infrequent viewer. I'm sure its exciting for the regular fans.
Appliance wows again - washing machine this time, dryer went a few months ago - they were over 15 years old. I probably could have DIY fix up - but not worth the effort if would only last another year maybe. Dishwasher still going strong. Fridge and Stove next. Lottery time.
Looks like a few snow showers before you can say goodbye to Winter,
last day of Summer here, but expect a few more hot spells.
Hope you get over your appliance woes, I replaced all my 50 year old stove, fridge & washing machine about 5 years ago, but bet the new ones won't last as long.
I actually won the new washing machine when the radio station ran a competition for the oldest washing machine still being used, so I sent a photo of my old stampco wringer washing machine that was over 60 years old & won a bosch front loader.
Congratulations on winning the washer! That's cool!
Jim, Even as a regular NASCAR viewer, I still don't care a lot for the stage racing. My biggest complaint is that they throw the yellow flag every time! There's 4-8 wasted laps, depending on the length of the track. Why not just count the cars, award the points and move on? I hate artificial, especially planned, cautions! Supposedly they are doing away with the cautions on road courses this year. That's a start ...
Still trying to get warm around here. It was in the mid-70s yesterday, but rained late. Still very overcast today ...
been thinking of you all most of time, I do miss my TSG friends, a chocolate cake and mad ostrich. It’s lucky that Yvonne is having warm weather at present, Here is about 4’c at present and I need lots of jackets because electricity bills has gone up.
Good to see you & that you are keeping warm,
our electricity & gas bills are also going up, so we'll have to wear warmer clothes also as Winter closes in,
but luckily today will be a sunny 24C.
We had a guest appearance by young Mr. Robert the other day in our weekly Zoom meeting. Every Wed. afternoon (USA time), Mike (techguy) has a Zoom session that we can dial into. Usually there are only 3 or 4 of us (ir)regulars. Robbie joined us last week. We chit-chat and play some games. Good times! We've been doing this for almost 3 years now. It started with a text chat here on the site, but the new owners do not enable the chat function, so Mike hosts a Zoom session. Anyone is welcome to join us! The more, the merrier!
Stay warm, Yvonne, Thanks to Mark for speaking out about the Guest appearance, I would probably not be on this Wednesday as promised friend to help out recording British Sign Language conservation for her part of course discussing about Deaf and hope to help her to help to pass Level 3 exams, she said she will be buying me a pub dinner, so what’s there to refuse, it’s sunny here today also and I’ll try to do more decluttering my room today and clearing out of clothes that doesn’t fit me anymore.
I also need to sort out two laptops to get sold week as it’s been here for long time and unused. Hopefully everything will be clean before I go away on mini break on cruise to France on MSC Virtuiosa. Just check out the robot bar called Rob.
