Is the truth, the truth or are there variations of a truth? Husband's 3 siblings are devout catholics, one no faith, brother missionary church. All but brother care financially and in service for their mother (76) who is the most precious person. Posed the question to husband does his siblings believe in: **If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8. He said yes..then i asked if brother was a devout christian how can he not join us in supporting mom and doing service to her (he lives behind her) example: brother badgered mom to get a loan so he could get an addition put on to her house;he had bad credit; she made the loan payments. she lives on social security. SO...husband says ** is your truth and brother just doesn't see it that way. What other way? Thoughts?

hmm, linskyjack...on scripture posted...how much more "truthful" can that get? is looking at a "stated truth" by one person, one that can be proven, ok to be different from another's perspective. like: husband was confronted with his drinking and driving. told him the "truth" of the matter was that if he got caught, the police here have zero tolerance on drinking and driving, no matter what the breath analyzer shows. His truth was that they would just tell him to go home since he had only 1 or 2 beers. so we went to the police station and two policemen told him they had zero tolerance and if .01...his car would be impounded he could/would be cuffed, etc. well when we left mr. cocky said they wouldn't and that was the truth of the matter. all said and done, however, i drive and I or someone picks him up/drives him home when he goes drinking with the guys..wonder what "truth" he sees now? can anyone give me a "truth" that can be seen by another as their truth.

Come again?---I don't get the analogy. Your husband's opinion was wrong.

Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't.

Hey jaye944 AMEN lol to "you can't handle the truth" it seems in many cases, when the "truth" is so opposed because they have different "truths" the self evident truth comes around and bites them in the butt!! and i love "the lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want"
