what happens when you plug the SD card into the laptop - do other SD cards work in the SD card slot?

Have just bought Canon SX600HS digital wifi camera my Lenovo Z500 doesn't recognise camera with wifi or without i.e nothing happens when sd card or cable inserted. Can someone help please.

Haven't tried other sd cards but my one works on another laptop.

Click on Computer .. Does the card show up and can you browse it ???

it maybe the SD card reader on the laptop does not work
if you put the SD card into the PC and then goto
computer
can you see the card
can you then click on the card and see a DCIM folder

Yes to both questions camerawindow reads cannot detect camera
do you have a firewall on the PC
can you goto the wifi settings on the camera and see if you have an IPaddress

I am sure I do am definitely connected to IP can transfer photos but to where?
