Hallo I have XP Professional. I broke my shoulder at Christmas and been very awkward since. I either knocked my keyboard or monitor, but I can't exit from a page now as it is stretched sideways and the top is missing from page. Also my desktop icons are out of the screen. I have tried the screen resolution but it does nothing
Hope you can help thanks

Have you tried the obvious? A restart>system restore or last known good configuration.

Start your computer.

Thankyou for your reply. I have already tried a system restore and it did nothing - I took it back a few days before it happened.
'configuring the settings using the buttons on the monitor'? I really don't know to do that. I press one button and it says Main Menu with a set of items first one being 'auto image adjust'
Next button gives blank screen with 'Auto Image Adjust' in the centre
Then centre 'on and off' with righthand ones to do with contrast.
Maybe I need to tech to adjust this for me.
I do think it has something to do with this monitor because I nearly knocked it over when I first tried to use my computer after shoulder injury
Thanks a lot

Try going to the monitor mfgs website and download the manual for your model. It should tell you how to navigate the menu`s and adjust the different settings. Some of them can be very confusing.

Press Alt and spacebar, click restore. This will allow you to close the page.

Then on the monitor on the main menu, usually, use the arrow keys until you get to horizontal and vertical position. Press menu again and the top choice should change colour. press menu again and the bottom choice should change colour adjust using the arrow keys.

As you wish. I did suggest you post make and model, in an attempt to help further.
I wish you the best of luck and good recovery from your broken shoulder.
