The most bizarre and challenging problem you've encountered

Hello, a very strange problem seems to occur with both of my PCs when I try to run them at my school campus. They sometimes turn on and sometimes don't fully turn on - the motherboard light is on but the boot process doesn't go any further. This problem doesn't happen with other PCs running there. My PCs work fine at home.
The only real difference I can spot between my PCs and theirs is that mine are newer - the older one was is a '15 Core i7 4790k build, while theirs are much older builds (one is Pentium 4, the others - Core 2 Duo) now running Win7.

Two thing come to mind.
Damage in transport - Presumably, everything worked properly at home before you moved your systems to campus. Perhaps things came loose when the PC's were moved.
Open up your cases and re-seat the ram and power connectors.

Power - How reliable is the mains power at on campus? What kind of quality are your computer's power supplies? Investing in a UPS may resolve your issue.
While you have it open, disconnect/reconnect ALL cables. Also remove/reinstall all cards (ie: video card, RAM, etc.).

Parts have a tendency to become dislodged during transport.
