There are billions of planets out there, it'd be pretty unlikely if we were the ONLY intelligent, technological species out there.

I think we should keep trying, and hopefully someone somewhere is trying too, and one day we'll get that sci-fiey goodness

Maximillion a member here was into the S.E.T.I. @ home project for quite some time. Reading data from S.E.T..I. on his personal pc.
I decided to get into it awhile back and I think I have around 400 data units done so far.

You never know, might still find something out there

Hello izme,

Yes, it's a little like the National Lottery, if you don't play, you don't win. It must be worth trying. There may be a species out there trying to communicate with us - and we miss it for lack of not listening! The telescopes, etc., are there, why not use them.

You have a better chance of finding life on other planets. Its gotten really bad on the other side of the fence. Between the conspiracy theorists, the Muslim religious fanatic, the one trick ponies, our resident socialist, our member with multiple personalities, the touchy feelly members, and the "hate Bush" for any reason crowd its become very very ugly.
