Hello, I am running Me. If I go to explore C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content IE5\ there are 12 folders;e.g.,47QEFCW7. The contents of these folders add up to about 350 MB. Can anyone tell me what they are, why they are there and can I delete them. Thanks a lot. Bert

every time you go onto a webpage - the webpage and images etc are stored in that area on your PC.

goto internet options
temporary internet files
you can set how much space they will use up.

if you goto a page and it has loads of pictures graphics it loads quicker from your PC if the page has not changed.

from internet options - you can also delete temp files there

Hallo, Thanks for your help. When I look at the properties of the 12 folders it shows that they are hidden files. Does this make any sense. Thanks, Bert.

yes, they are system tyoe files and are hidden.
however, you can change that setting
windows explorer
tools
folder options
view tab
you will see some radio buttons you can change
