System slow down(lag) w/hijackthis.log

829 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  TheTank
Well I heard a rumor, the rumor was that this place and you guys were the ones that I should turn to for the problems I am having with my system, so with that here we go ;)

OK did the usual, shut down all of my Internet access on my system, shut everything that was running down that was not needed, ran Ad aware, Spybot and CWShredder and from there cleaned my system up, or so I thought. I was going to run a virus scan but I did that last night and cleaned up, some where around 9 viruses on my system
(by the way my Virus protection is brought to me by avast) ;)

Ad-aware picked up some thing called eAccelerator in its scan, so when I restarted I got a CAN NOT FIND eAccelerator.dll module error. So I went ahead and looked in my Add/Remove programs and seen this present, attempted to uninstall eAccelerator but it ran into an error of COULD NOT FIND, well I figured this would happen since I removed it and all of its components through Ad-aware.

So my question is this, how do I keep it from trying to locate and start up this so called eAccelerator upon a restart?

Also I am having problems with system lag. When I open anything on my system it takes, roughly 1 to 1.5 minutes to open said file. Also about every other web browsing attempt my browser HANGS for around 2 to 3 minutes and then what I am trying to get to on the web finally opens. During this LAG of my browser I can not do anything with the window other then just stare at it.

This whole system lag even effects my shut downs and restarts. Shut downs and restarts take about 5 to 6 minutes to complete. What could be causing this?

Just an FYI, I am running the latest version of Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thuderbird, I just had to kick IE and Outlook to curb for once and for all

Here is my log

Does any one have any tips or tricks to get my system running the way it should be? Does anything in my log catch any ones eye and if so how do I go about repairing these thing, as in getting them off of my system for good?

The things I highlighted in Red are questionable to me, becuase I have never heard of these items before and have never ran any of these files or URLa in past.

Thanks,
Frank

Hello TheTank and Welcome to TSG! :D

Download SpywareBlaster from here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2859&file=11&evp=61b0e8ad41924a03c37615f4682b4cef

Install and run SpywareBlaster. Click on "Updates" and then choose "Check for updates". Next choose "Protection" and at the top you will see different tabs which are Internet Explorer, Restricted sites and Mozilla/Firefox. Choose one of them at a time and at the bottom click "Protect Against Checked Items" (make sure that all of the items are checked). Tick the boxes above the items. Make sure you do this for all of the top tabs. Mozilla/Firefox you only need to do if you have the user profiles on your computer. You may now exit out of SpywareBlaster.

Download DelDomains from here:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

Right-Click and select "Install".

Update all of the programs that you mentioned (CWShredder, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D).

Restart your computer and post a fresh HijackThis log back on this thread.

Thanks for the reply crushbone. I did every thing you said to do. I even went ahead and did a virus scan tonight, just for shins and grins :D

Ad-aware, Spybot and my avast virus scanner found NOTHING
(thats a first)

So after I did everything I did a reboot and got that eAccelorator error message upon rebooting. Said it could not find a certain .dll module associated with eAccelorator.

Also just curious but can any one tell me why when I do a file search on my system, that windows starts an attempt to install Microsoft Office 2000? This has been going on since I have had XP installed on my computer. Its not really a big deal, more annoying then anything, I am just curious as to why it does this.

Here is my log file after rebooting my system:
