I had a couple of nasty viruses that wasted my .EXE file extensions to .LNK
I had to turn off System Restore before terminating the viruses. When I tried to turn System Restore back on, it froze my PC. I even tried opening Windows Task Manager before trying to turn System Restore back on so I could stop the processes without having to shut down at the switch, but everything was frozen. I think there was s note that popped up that said something like System Restore couldn't turn on one or more drives. I have two hard drives with the main one being partitioned into two drive letters.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
I have over 10,000 bad shortcuts and almost 400 other problems and before trying to fix them I'd like to make a restore point.
