When I boot my computer I get this error message: (how do I fix this?)

Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application.

The windows registry or system.INI file refers to this device file, but the device no longer exists.

If you deleted this file on purpose, try installing the associated application using its uninstall or setup program.

If you still want to use the application associated with this device file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file.

You have perhaps inadvertently deleted some part of Mcafee anti-virus and need to do one of 2 things...
The easy one... reinstall mcafee
tricky one... run regedit and search for any entries of CYBERKRN.VXD and delete these registry keys.
If you are not confident with the registry editor please please reinstall mcafee and don't delete registry entries.

For reference:

If you want to remove that key, that Bowmar mentioned, this is it:

Click on Start / Run / type regedit

Navigate to the following key by clicking on the +sign of each successive folder in this Pathe till you come to Cyberkrn >

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\ Cyberkrn

Click on Cyberkrn in left pane, then right click on StaticVxD in the right pane and select 'delete'

Note: 'StaticVxD' is the name, C:\ PROGRA~1\CYBERM~1\CYBERKRN .... is the value,

:)
