syslog.exe hogging 99% of processor usage!!!!

Driving me nuts!! Windows NT 4.0 server is running syslog.exe, can't stop it, can't end process, traced the file, tried to temporarily delete it, NOTHING works!! It is fully bogging my system down, what do I do?? How to stop it, can I delete it???

I think that it is virus, what did u do last? before it started 2 do this.

Do u have any software to with firewall, sending msgs to unix etc..

well, I messed around a bit, and found that the server kept logging off the network, therefore disabling the entire network, which must've been driving the syslog nuts! I screwed a bit with the settings of the network to make it more reliable, and problem solved!!
