I have been helping a person who downloaded Internet Security 2005 and tried to install without removing 2004 on Windows xp sp2. After contacting Symantec tech support online, I have followed their instructions and: deleted anything relating to symantec...there isn't a file left from the 2004 nor the 2005 installation that I can find. I re-downloaded their file as recommended. However, she has a dialup connection and that is a very long process. I have done it 2x though. The most recent attempt to reinstall I used the previously downloaded file. It hangs at the same point each time. I suggested she contact them and have them send her a CD to install from. Any other hints? Suggestions?
