Your CPU is overheating and you need to figure out why. Maybe the heatsink is not installed correctly, maybe too much or too little thermal paste, maybe it's fan is pointing in the wrong direction or not working or not working at full speed. Or you need more case cooling or you have a bad power supply.

Stuttery FPS w/ AMD Radeon r7 370 series graphics card
Hello everyone, and thank you for checking this thread in an attempt to help me! I'm not good with computers, so any instructions/directions you give me need to have every step carefully spelled out for me, or I'm likely going to run into some problems with my own stupidity! Now with that out of the way, I will explain the situation the best I can.
Lets start with my computer specs
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD A6-7400K Radeon R5, 6 Compute Cores 2C+4G, AMD64 Family 21 Model 48 Stepping 1
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 15303 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon (TM) R7 370 Series, -2048 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 113906 MB, Free - 40771 MB; E: Total - 953739 MB, Free - 794651 MB;
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd., F2A88X-D3HP
The game we'll use as an example is Overwatch, but other games do not run as well as they should either, so it isn't exclusive to Overwatch.
This is what I should be running Overwatch at with my graphics card. I instead have a very bad stutter in game. I have had to put everything on its lowest possible settings to get 60fps, which drops to below 40 when fighting is happening, and regularly stutters to the point where I'm watching a slideshow presentation.
The CPU is running at 100% while playing Overwatch, with Overwatch taking up 35-50% of it.
I have made sure the computer is utilizing both cores.
My friend has troubleshooted with me in the past, but he is stumped. Here is what we tried.
We have tried installing the newest drivers for my AMD Radeon r7 370 Graphics card. We then ran a benchmark test with 3D mark 11, which came up with this http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11279848
We noticed that it is reading my card as an AMD Radeon r9 270 instead of an r7 370. We don't know how to fix this, I've tried manually selecting my driver from the site, and it still always installs the wrong drivers.
I have also noticed that my CPU is running rather hot, at around 60 degrees C, while my graphics card is chilling out at 35 degrees C. My CPU has spiked up to 80 C while gaming, with the graphics card not getting any hotter.
In the past, we had to uninstall the other display driver, since it was preventing my PC from utilizing the graphics card, which is now listed under my Device Manager > Display Adapter as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" with a yellow triangle near it. I have tried uninstalling it, but it always comes back after a restart.
That is all I have for you guys regarding my problem, please help me, it's stressing me out a ton not being able to play with my friends. Ask me any questions with detailed directions to get any information you need from me to help you solve this! I have liquid cooling, and my friend said I really shouldn't be running that hot if it's working right. I'll try checking all of that out.
IF its' working right. Do you have liquid cooling for everything or just one thing? You need to check the CPU, GPU, and motherboard temps.
I do believe. CPU was the only thing running hot at 60-80 C, everything else was at 35C and completely stable. When stress testing the GPU, it didn't go over 50 C.
Well then it's definitely not working right. 80 degrees C is an unacceptable temperature for the CPU.
I'm glad the problem is pin pointed at least. I will check that out once I'm home and come back with an update.
