Hi. I have cable internet and use mailpenguin as my main mail service along with outlook express on my laptop. Anyway, I installed AOL so that I could get online from anywhere. But for some reason, when I login, it shows me how many new AOL emails I've recieved event though I don't use aol mail... Is there a way to change this in winxp? Thanks!

Try this

Go to Start | run

Type in regedit
In the left pane, find the following Key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
UnreadMail

In the right pane, Double-click MessageExpiryDays
Change the value to 0, then click OK.
Close the registry editor

Reboot your computer

See if it still shows

Change that original Value back to any number greater than 0 (to represent days) Expand the UnreadMail

You should now see all your email addresses listed

Highlight each of the email addresses in turn that you DON'T want to check, and in the right pane, change MessageCount to 0 (zero)
