Hi,
I've got a Dell Dimension 4100 that I've had for about 3 years now. Its been working okay, but now when I start it up theres a kind of grinding/buzzing sound. It still boots up and everything, but in order to get the sound to stop I have to shut it off and turn it back on. Any idea whats causing this?

It sounds like it may be the power supply, try using another one, they seem to sometimes play up at first and then work fine, its not really a good sign. but it may be something else, try another PSU.

I would think either power supply fan or heatsink fan is getting weary. You may have to open the case and try it to pinpoint the offending hardware.
