Starting up problem, can't get into system

I have a packard bell laptop and can't get the laptop to start properly. It turns on and goes into preparing automatic repair then nothing screen blank. Any suggests please. I can't get into a safe mode screen.

Any advice. I can't get into a safe mode as the f8 doesn't get me there. I tried taking the battery out and turning on with just the plug in power lead. But nothing . It just try's to repair then a blank screen. I can hear the hard drive making noises
