I've recently downloaded an advertisement removing program (Ad subtract) to use with IE 6. However I've noticed that it is quite a memory hog.So I want it to start only when I start IE6/MSN messenger/Yahoo messenger. This option is not given for the adsubtract itself neither can I find it for each of the progs mentioned above .Please help me

well you can disable the program at startup so it doesn't load when your computer starts.

Then if there are no options to do what you want, you create a custom batch files and shortcuts for IE6, msn messenger, and yahoo messenger.

the when launching IE6 etc. You would just click on the custom shortcut. That would work almost all the time except if you clicked on a favorite or link in a file or on your desktop etc.

However there should be a better way.

But the best way would be to disable the ad program at startup. then just load it up before you go on the net.

Thanks for al the help so far.I did as the instructions said and now IE and Adsubtract can be started with the same icon. But another problem:Inspite of Adsubtract starting first IE loads first and hence the browser shows Ads. How can I put a time lag between the two programs ?

You could have Adsubtract start from the registry.

You could create a value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run in order to start Adsubtract.exe there.

If you wish, I could do that for you, if I knew the exact path to your Adsubtract.exe.

You could also do it yourself with Startup Manager , a powerful Msconfig replacement.

It has an option to easily change the startup location of any file. See the attachment.

Good luck,
