My ssd stopped working and it turned out to be a bad cable. Upon replacing it, it is recognized but the drive letter changed from "D:" to "F:" now my system does not find files stored on it. I tried the "Change drive name" procedure but it didn't work, this is an internal drive on a desktop PC.

disc 4 is a removable HD that I have my backups on. I could'nt remember the drive leter so I plugged it in just to see

I changed the letter for the removable drive, and that made the letter D available, and it's fixed!! Thank you to everyone that helped!

Above your first post in this thread, but below the black bar, on the right-hand side, you will see a "kebab" menu (three vertical dots). Click that and select edit. You will see a drop down in front of the thread title that says "Prefix". Drop that and "Solved" should be one of your options.
Real simple, huh? Who needs a dedicated button that does this in a single mouse click? ;-)
