When is the last time someone got an update for Spybot? It has told me for about 3 weeks that there are no newer updates. Normally I get a new one just about every week.

March 4, 2004 was the last update from Spybot. It's been a while now that it hasn't updated as often whereas Ad-Aware is practically every day and even twice a day sometimes.

Yeah, that's kinda of a filp-flop with the two utilities.

Not too long ago adAware was slack in the update dept., and now it seems SpyBot is not updating regularly, doesn't seem to matter which mirror you choose..
Maybe they are working up to a new version like AdAware did?

Thanks to both. I'm glad it's not on my end.

According to this thread from the NetIntegration Forum, version 1.3 is on the way;http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=13022

My understanding is that Spybot consists of Patrick Kolla and some (unpaid?) helpers, it is not a commercial outfit. If you want to encourage further development, donate.

Even then, this tool may go the way of jv16, AIDA32 etc. These clever young people have lives to lead and a living to make and nobody would have any cause for complaint if Patrick did feel unable to carry on. Nothing is for nothing, just ask B. Gates!

Following the recommendation in the Spybot program, I installed SpywareBlaster and, since I got it (and Cookie Wall), neither Spybot nor AdAware has found much on my comp.

I use SpywareBlaster, it's nice because it just blocks the keys for the spyware from installing, nothing runs real-time.
