Speakers clicking at random intervals on Sony Vaio Desktop

Hello there, first time user. Over the past few months I have been getting a slight "clicking" noise out of the built in speakers on my Sony Vaio desktop VPCL235FD. I don't hear the clicking when headphones are plugged in, and no clicking when other speakers are plugged in. The clicking seems to go off every time a program is opened, or a movie is paused and then restarted. It is DEFINITELY not coming from the hard drive or fans, but from speakers. Any help would be great!

Is this clicking happening in tune with mouse actions and/or windows panes opening and closing?

If so, check for the what settings are in the Sound area of the Control Panel.
Be sure to click the "Sound" tab.
Hi, thanks for replying but I sorted it out! It wasn't so much a click as a sound action, it was more of a really small click like the speakers were actually damaged, not from a program or action. I ended up re-installing every audio driver update I could find and it's gone now :)
