for a few weeks now my C drive where my xp pro is installed has been running out of space repetevly...

after 4 or more hours that the computer has been up all 3.5gb free on my C drive mysteriosly disappear

i checked almost everything, cleaned temp files, cache, logs and even put the virtual memory file on a seperate driver but at the end i still ended up with the same prob

the space is back once you reboot but it is very annoying having to reboot every 4 hours...

i have had this prob happen to me twice already, with another installation of xp earlier after about 6-7 months of the original installation

do you guys know if this is a bug or im doing something stupid?
my last option is to switch to win2k

Could be viral and giving misreadings

Please get Spybot S&D to clear out any spyware.
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=mirrors

Install the program and open it.

Before doing any scanning click Online and Search for Updates .
Put a check mark at and install all updates .
Click Check for Problems nd when the scan is finished have Spybot fix all it finds marked in red .

Then after reboot :
Download 'Hijack This! http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the " scan " button will change into a " save log " button.
Press that, save the log , load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
