I am logged on as Administrator in win xp pro ver 2002 with SP2 on a new (replaced) hard drive, downloaded and ran subinacl.exe registry patch, downloaded XP SP3. When I try to install after a few minutes I get “Service Pack 3 Setup Error” window with: “Service Pack 3 Setup canceled.” Re-booted in Safe mode, ran sp3 update again, and I get the same error msg. Any ideas on what to try next? TIA

I put it together from newegg componets 3 or 4 years ago. Intel P4 on a PM266A/Pro motherboard, 512 MB ram, replaced drive with a WDC WD400BB-75FJA1.

I think the slipstream method you mention is the answer as I have 38 workstations and I like to keep a couple spares to swap out when one of them bites the dust. I think I'm spending way too much time on this one. I appreciate your help, Rich. Thanks!
