The problem I am having is that every time I restart my computer, I loose my sound. I don't hear anything and when I try to play files in Winamp, the spectrum analyzer will move for about a second and then just stop. I would say that the sound is just freezing up, but i don't hear anything when that happens. I don't even hear my startup wav's. The strangest thing is that when I just shutdown the computer and then power it back on, the sound works perfectly. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
I don't know what tool I am using to set the sound. I'm not really sure what your refering to. Are you talking about the drivers, the programs that I am trying to run?
Heres the deal. I was having some problems where my sound would quit on me every time that I would restart. So after weeks of looking, I found on the IBM website that win 98 does not work well with WDM drivers. So I attempt to replace them and then something goes wrong. Being the idiot that I am, I screw something up and I don't have any sound at all. Well after pulling out most of my hair, I finally reinstalled the drivers that came with my computer. I'm not sure if I did it right though because now the sound that I did get back is very quiet. I am really getting sick of all the problems my computer is giving me. Can someone help?
