just today, about a half hour ago, i keep getting a window that is popping up, sort of looks like a dos window, it says: c:\winnt\system32\rkquqi.exe.

i think that was a problem file that i had before. i'm going to do what was requested of me last time. run find it, hijack this and the dll compare.

i will post them back here shortly.

my computer is going very slowly, as of now, there are 6 of the above windows open. they just keep popping up!!!

sorry to be a pain again!!

well, i had to reboot, in the morning, there were about a million of those windows popped up, and i couldn't get my computer to do anything.

so far it has popped up once, just when it first signed back on, and not since. maybe it was just some sort of hiccup.

one could hope

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Narrator] C:\WINNT\system32\rkquqi.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Restart in safe mode

Open Windows Explorer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders" Click "Apply" then "OK".

Delete this file: C:\WINNT\system32\rkquqi.exe

Go to control panel, add/remove programs and remove these: Viewpoint Manager & Weatherbug.

Download AdAware SE Personal:

Install the program and launch it.

On the bottom right-hand corner of the main window click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

In the main window: Click Start and under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

To start the scan, click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and then click Next)

Download the new version of Hijackthis and post another log.

Move hijackthis.exe into a permanent folder like My Documents\hjt then post another log.
