Somewhat advanced phone zapper
For a long time now, I've been using a piece of software called PhoneTray to block certain numbers. I use v1.39 because that's the only one that doesn't require a subscription to use. Unfortunately, that version won't work on anything but Windows XP. So, we have one dedicated XP computer in our household. However, I started thinking that, with as advanced and compartmentalized as technology has gotten, there's gotta be a way that you can have some sort of miniature computer that will store an almost unlimited amount of numbers (as compared to landline phones that have a limit), have programmable caller ID so that you can easily identify numbers, maybe have a button that allows you to automatically block a number.

It has a clearly readable caller ID and a Block Now button. However, it looks like it's primarily for blocking numbers and not necessarily for helping to identify numbers that don't have a caller ID (as in programming numbers with a customized ID). Any suggestions?

For all intents and purposes, if they're spoofing known numbers, that would be an issue. But, if you don't recognize the number and you don't want to answer it, that's where the button would come in handy. Instead of answering then hanging up to stop the ringing, you could just press the button to zap it. That way, you can zap at the press of a button a phone call you don't want to answer and you have a 50/50 chance that a number you recognize is the actual owner of the number.Note that a phone number can be spoofed, rendering a call-blocker rather useless.
That "for all intensive purposes" should be "for all intents and purposes".
