For some reason lately my router (WRT54G) has been causing a lot of problems. I cannot connect to it with my psp, it says, "connecting to network....getting ip.... connecting to network....getting ip....over and over". My father's laptop will stay connected to the internet for about 10 minutes but then he will have to re-input the WEP password after those 10 minutes.

Nothing has been changed lately and I don't see why it could be acting up all of a sudden. We tried chaning the encryption to WPA but still about the same effect. If you need anymore information ask, because right now, just stuck on this problem. Thanks!

Re-entering the encryption password is clearly not normal. To start, I'd reset the modem to factory defaults, download the latest firmware, and reconfigure it. See if that helps the stability.

Well I did do the firmware upgrade, with the correct firmware version (WRT54G version 4-update), but after I did it, nothing worked anymore. I could get into the router but no matter how many times I re-setup my connection it did nothing.

I reset my connection to factory defaults to get back onto the internet.

So what's the situation now? You can connect wirelessly w/o encryption but cannot connect when you enable encryption?

If so, it might be wireless interference--especially from a 2.4Ghz cordless phone or another wireless network.
