Solved: Wireless Internet Speed

771 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  c0rrup
Hi everyone, well to start off I had perfect internet for the past year, I am using a wireless linksys adapter G, connecting to my belkin router, it worked fine for so long I was so happy with my setup, but the past 2 weeks I have been getting rather slow speeds on the internet and playing games.

My signal strength is 95% but it's just really slow sometimes, i'm not sure what the problem is, I didn't change anything, it just started to go slower : (

Any help or suggestions would be great.

I would first look to see if there are updates available for your routers firmware and your linksys card. Also you could try resetting/powering down your router.Changing your routers channel could help out too.
You could also scan your system for malware.
Or call your ISP and ask if there's a service problem.

There's no way a router's firmware would suddenly become out of date and cause performance problems.
Well I upgraded it, and it seems like it got faster, game's ping has been improved and browsing speeds aswell.

I'll post back if I am having more problems, thanks though!
