I have messed up my windows xp configuration. I installed a second hard drive and installed windows on it. Now using my computer I can not get into my files says access denied. Any help would be appreciated. I made the second hard drive the master and the messed up one the slave. All I wanted to do was copy some files that were on my desktop. I am trying to get into my folder that was for my username.

Is NTFS used on the old drive?

If so I recommend you boot using the old drive and change the file permissions giving Everyone full access.

I did use NTFS on the drive, however that drive will not boot. I did get my files back. I used ghost to make an image of the old drive onto the new one, then using the Ghost image exploere i extracted the files I needed. Thanks for the help though
