Windows Media Player (including 25 associated files) were preinstalled on my XP computer. Of course before I can use the program, poor Bill Gates wants me to pay the piper. I tried to delete the program but was warned that many other programs (a long list) might not operate properly. Can I ignore this warning?

Thanks Triple6. I will review the software agreement terms to see if I was mistaken about the Microsoft charge. It claimed that what was to be installed was an update of a prvious version and that if I was not registered to use the previous version that I would not be able to use the update. I am a bit confused.
