Just an annotation; could this be a PSU issue?
Thanks for the reply. One thing I forgot to mention, is that i assembled most of the system and installed windows, prior to installing the video card. The system was stable this way. No issues whatsoever. After a few days, the video card arrived, and upon installing the driver, my issues began. If I uninstall the Catalyst Omega driver, the system runs stable, even while connecting the monitor to the 290X video card.C:\Windows\Minidump\040515-12870-02.dmp
is saying something is forcing a memory dump---
not sure if from your memory cards or from the memory on board the
video card itself
if your motherboard has a integrated video monitor port I would hook up that port
& see if your computer starts up without crashing ..
if so delete your video card--- remove video card from computer
try to reinstall the video card----
do U have a spare computer U can try to install the video card in ?????
the other line
error message with WER-33197-0.sysdata.xml is for check disk & wants U to insert the
windows install disk & click repair system----
if U don't have a integrated video/monitor port---inserting the windows install disk at start up couldn't hurt,
--see what U can see with it running----it won't make any changes until U tell it to.
ooppss----that last bit was loopy---
inserting the windows install disk at start up is just to see if your system will run stable with the disk in and no problems----
can see the window install screen on your monitor.
if it does---that means your problem is with the operating system on the hard drive , not the video card.
then yes go ahead & click repair system button to see if it can detect & fix your problem
hope some of this works for you
Too late for that lol. I had nothing on the pc anyway, so nothing lost.Apridham---
I would hold off on uninstalling windows----I looked in Google about your Catalyst Omega driver---
there are whole forum pages from AMD devoted to Catalyst Omega driver problems----
U need to tell us exactly what set up you are running. maybe
somone more experencied with Catalyst will log on----
some of the post talk about running a amd driver on a intel chip or running this driver in boot camp
for mac os ------
but anyway this looks like a complicated issue for which driver to install on your set up--
need more information
James
I had previously installed the Catalyst driver for the onboard GPU. Could that cause a conflict?my bad---not intel chip---but trying to run catalyst omega /amd video card driver on a
motherboard that has a intel based intergrated gpu port built in
just google catalyst omega driver problem & it shows pages & pages of returns
sorry
Thanks so much for your help, James.lol lol--were cross posting---
I'm more of a Nvidia person so will
let the AMD people get back with U
