Running windows ME. I understand that the computer is a bit old but it should work faster in my opinion. Here is a HJT Log. Any other logs that would be needed will be provided if that will start this thing running.

Yes, the 04 is bad.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\CXTPLS_LOADER.EXE
  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Rescan with Hijack This.
Close all browser windows except Hijack This.
Put a check mark beside these entries and click "Fix Checked".

Please go to this site: http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Use the Browse button at Jotti.
Navigate to the file's location on your hard drive and submit this file:
C:\BROWSERHELPER.DLL

Let me know what it says regarding the file.
Have you tried another browser like Firefox?
In Control Panel , double-click Internet Options.
On the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files.
Then click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box , and then click OK.
Click OK.
Thought it would be worth a shot. Do the IE problems persist?
