Thanks for looking into this. I couldn't do the things that you asked me to do in order since Ad-Aware was getting stuck. So, I performed SpyBot Search first and restarted and then I did Ad-Aware. They cleaned everything found. Here is the HJT log:

Hey since I did the above (Ad Aware and SpyBot) whenever I try to shut down Internet Expolorer the little window pops-up with the message "Iexplore has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. Iexplore will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer." Unless I restart the computer it would not go away?

Yes, the 04 is bad.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\CXTPLS_LOADER.EXE
  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Rescan with Hijack This.
Close all browser windows except Hijack This.
Put a check mark beside these entries and click "Fix Checked".

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [2hLWA5] "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\CXTPLS_LOADER.EXE" /PC=CP.IST2 /SHUN /UNAR="/CTUN"

Right now my Internet Explorer gets stuck occasionally and when I try to shut it down it is reporting to Microsoft the error and restarts (even if it does not get stuck, if I try to close it that's what happens)

I have performed IEfix from the site that you've posted; however, the internet still "misbehaves". Does not want to open most of links but only gets stuck. I have to open a new window and type in the address bar the websites location in order to follow a link.

I don't have them installed on my comp. plus I've been using IE forever and wanna keep using it but if it takes solving this to switch to Firefox I guess I don't have a choice.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure how to do that? Plus I realized that if I have only one window of IE open and I click on a link it will start loading it as long as I do not move (touch) the mouse. As soon as I move the mouse anywhere on the screen it stops loading for some reason? Does this help in getting to know what causes this problem?
