Solved: What is the problem, laptop or charger?

Okay so about a week or so ago my laptop (or charger) starting acting strange, would only charge if the charge was in a certain position, so i thought the charger internal wires were broken, so i ordered a new charger and its pretty much the same story, it will only charger in a certain position, now im getting the idea that the port inside is broke ( although looking from the outside of it inside the port, it looks still intact) and getting the impression something needs to be soldered, but i am not so sure, any ideas as to where i go with this? im not very keen on sending it to acer as there service can be hurrendous at times, but if it doesn't cost that much to take it to a local computer store to fix, ill do that, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know

Thanks!

It's very common for the DC jack to break from stress or pressure on the cable. If that's the case you either have to get the jack soldered back on or even replaced. I wouldn't send it to Acer unless it's under warranty as the fee will be more than a local place should charge to repair it.
Thanks for your reply :)

indeed it is! i went down to the pc shop whilst waiting for a reply on here and you was right, the DC jack was SO LOOSE. my new charger has the tiniest of tiniest bends on it, and its should hopefully be okay to use when the laptop comes back?
Okay thanks very much!, marked solved =]
