Please offer your opinion about which would be the best and most secure browser for me to download. I've been using IE6 for the past couple of years and with all of the security issues etc. I don't want to use it anymore. I'm looking for a browser that is both very secure and very user friendly. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Firefox seems to be the browser of choice, BUT--- and this is a big fat caveat, as a greater number of users switch to Firefox, it will draw the fire away from IE and it will become the target du jour.
Is it inherently more secure than IE? Probably not since Open Source has the double edged blade of having its code laid open for the world [and hackers] to see.
Is Linux more secure than Windows? Not really enough Linux users to draw in a large number of hackers and crackers yet. It's my firm belief that nothing that accesses the Internet can ever be 100% secure.
