Hey Gang,

I sold an item yesterday on Ebay. The buyer said he paid by PayPal. However I didn't receive any notification by PayPal. This is the first time I have sold on Ebay with PayPal so I am unfamiliar with how it works, but when I've been a buyer I've been notified.

So I checked 'MY EBAY' and looked at "Items I've Sold"

Under Items Awaiting Payment There is the item listed. It says underneath that if this item were already paid by PayPal that it would be a dollar sign next to the it and, in their words, it would be "lit up"

What color does it "Light Up" to be? Blue? It is already blue. Then why is it listed under "Items Awaiting Payment?"

What does an item 'light up' as if its already been paid for by Paypal? Red, green, orange, gold, blue - or what?

Thanks,
HULK

Hi DH,

I did that and no activity. This is the first time I've used Paypal as a seller, so I don't know if I did something wrong or if I have an unscrupulous buyer on my hands.

If you have your paypal account linked with ebay and the buyer can pay you directly from ebay with paypal, it will automatically switch from awaiting payment to awaiting shipment once the buyer has paid. Have them send you a copy of the transaction through paypal. Check the email address that they sent payment to. If it is not right, you will have no record of the payment even if they have paid. If your paypal account is not reflecting the money, you haven't been paid. We sell a lot on ebay, hope this helps.

Thanks people. My paypal account had the wrong email address on it. I corrected it by adding that email address to my paypal account. Now I am paid.

Problem solved

I used to think that way too. I didn't like Paypal because they were hacked all the time. Its about par with AOL when it comes to security. But when I found about 75% of the purchases made on Ebay are with Paypal I changed my mind....:p

People like the conveniece of one-click shopping...:D

I get phishing notices from people claiming to represent Paypal all the time. They always ask for my password.

If you really want to know how Paypal is hacked you should check the web for yourself. It'll be a real eye-opener:p
