Upon installing the "Video ActiveX Object 2.07", my computer restarted. When it re-opened, I received teh following message:

Attention! Your system is currently vulnerable to computer attacks. Remote intruders can gain access to following files and folders on your PC:
- \Windows\System32
- \Program Files\Internet Explorer
- \My Documents
- Drive C:\ files
To enhance the security on your PC Download and run Intrusion Detection System (IDS software)

Any suggestions?

Looks like you got yourself a bit of spyware called 'smitfraud'...check out:

I'd download Spybot Search & Destroy (check for and install all updates before you run it) -- you may have to restart and run the scan again to get rid of it all.
Very true Valis  should have mentioned that
