If it says waiting to download I would click on it and see if it downloads them

While formatting a disk in D:\ I started moving files of digital fotos to download, after the formatting the foto files disappeared
. Where did they go??? How do I restore them?
Forgot Win XP on Dell Inspiron 8600 . I will just die if I can't find these fotos!
I was formatting a CD-RW and moving files, where the files have to be written to the D:\ after you choose write to disc. I was moving them from C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Pictures to an area that says files waiting to be downloaded. My computer has Sonic on it which is why it has the files waiting to be downloaded. What do I do now?

PS I am looking for someone in NW Sub. Chicago to do side work. I am in Elgin.
