I'm using Adobe Acrobat reader V8.0, downloaded a file savedas pdf file. Operating system XP home. When I made some changes to the file and saved the file got a message that "must be using Acrobat standard or professional version" in order to save the file with the changes. The program Acrobat reader was downloaded from MajorGeeks, is it not the standard version?

No, thats the free reader. If you want to edit or create PDF's you need full Acrobat program: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/
