Solved: Smitfraud and virtumonde infections

2015 Views 32 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Cheeseball81
Sorry, I may have posted this twice in error but I do still need help with it.

My daughter just received her computer back from the shop and when I reconnected it for her, I noticed that she has a couple of viruses that keep showing up, as well as Smitfraud and Virtumonde.

The two viruses that keep coming up are Trojan horse Collected.9.AL and Trojan horse PSW.Generic2.XLL.

Both viruses are in the Temp file with extensions: pvrgllaa.dll and ighouovv.dll, respectively.

AVG detects the viruses and I keep sending them to the vault but they keep returning upon reboot. (except this last time)

Smitfraud is causing the most grief. For Smitfraud and Virtumonde, I have run the removal tools but they are still showing up on Spybot version 1.4. I've run all the updates.

The Smitfraud shows up in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Juan. I have deleted it 4 times now and it is still showing up. The popups are all telling about infections and threats and they are incessant. Virtumonde only shows up as a cookie now but both things keep coming up no matter what.

I'm not sure how to get rid of these issues and I'm hoping your magic will lower my blood pressure.

Here's my hijackthis log just in case:
