Hey,

I have an hp pavilion with windows xp media center edition (version 2002, service pack 2). The problem is that I am connecting to a reciever via s-video, but the display stops between the windows logo on boot up and the windows login screen. Meaning that the windows logo displays via the receiver on the screen but then it flashes and goes black before the login screen shows on the laptop, and does not display anything further. Its something related to the xp settings, because my system is a dual boot with linux, and linux shows up fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hey,

In case someone else runs into the same problem. The folks at HP tech support were great, and instructed me that on an Pavilion dv6110, to display using an external device requires holding down the Fn key, and then selecting using the f4 key.
