Any time I drag an open window on the desktop it divides into red and yellow squares (like grid lines). What is causing this and how do I get rid of it?

I am marking this SOLVED. I found a solution to this problem myself. Here it is.
Solution: It was a monitor setting that somehow got switched into the grid view. I located the display/monitor settings and found several configurations to choose from. I am attaching the picture which shows highlighted, the wrong setting with the grids and right setting (the picture in the top left with the red X). Hope that information is helpful
IF a moderator reads this, you might want to change one of the words in my original topic heading. Switch the word "squares" with "grid lines". That might help someone in the future when searching for a solution to the same problem I had. Just a suggestion
